Submission Guidelines for Halo-Halo 2025

Thank you for your interest in participating in Halo-Halo, a cultural celebration and exhibition in honor of Filipino American History Month. We welcome submissions from artists and creatives whose work reflects Filipino-American identity, culture, resilience, and community.
Eligibility & Entry
There is no fee to submit artwork.
Artists may submit up to four (4) individual pieces for consideration.
Accepted artists will be contacted by the Halo-Halo curatorial team following a formal jury review process.
Accepted Mediums
We welcome a wide range of visual work, including but not limited to:
2D Work: Drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration, collage, watercolor, digital art, photography
3D Work: Ceramics, sculpture, fiber art, textiles, fashion design
Mixed Media: Experimental combinations and cultural storytelling through material
Please note:
All artwork intended for hanging must be exhibition-ready (wired and fitted with proper hooks).
Submissions not properly fitted for installation may be declined.
Delivery & Return
Selected work must be delivered to Cadogan Tate (address to be provided) at the artist’s expense.
Drop-off and pick-up dates will be communicated upon acceptance.
CPL and the Halo-Halo team will retain accepted works from September 1, 2025, through January 15, 2026.
Exhibition Information
The main exhibition and Opening Ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at The Harold Washington Library – Wells Hall and Auditorium.
This is a high-visibility opportunity to showcase Filipino-American creative expression in one of Chicago’s most iconic institutions.

Artwork may be available for sale through ArtDropStudios.
Sales are subject to a 25% commission, with 75% going directly to the artist.
